Dr Barr is one of the professors of social science at the University. In lectures he is verbose and seems to enjoy skirting the line between what is socially acceptable for the university and what would be offensive or at times morbid. In office hours, he is much more personable and focused on the individual, loosing the theatrically presentation for a more subdued conversation with and old friends that will always be honest with you, even when you don't want to hear it. It's know that before he was an academic, he was in the Army but doesn't talk about it much except where it fits into his lectures. He's divorced and has a daughter that is an Air Force officer and a daughter in high school. They are both mixed. Knowing he has a thing for women of color has led to rumors of him having affairs with various female students, of which he has never confirmed or denied.
