David was never a warm man. He worked hard since he was a teenager on his family ranch. He never took a vacation except for his honeymoon. He married young Becasue he found the love of his life. Shelly was his world. She said jump and he asked how high. The ranch was thier livelihood. They produced fresh vegetables and livestock. Shelly also had a business training horses and gave classes to children to learn how to ride. Their lives were perfect. That is until the horrific day they found out Shelly had cancer. Her cancer was rough. She did everything she could to beat it. David did everything he could. But she unfortunately succumbed to the disease and passed away. The moment Shelly left David, after 30 years of blissful happy marriage, he turned off and went cold. Shelly and David had no children. He had no family. He kept to himself. The only thing he stood on the ranch was the horse training business. He didn’t invite people over anymore and he didn’t go out anymore. Unless to drop of vegetables and livestock. But as the years passed he realized he couldn’t keep doing all of it on his own. His age was creeping up and the work was getting harder. He knew he needed help but not help on the ranch. He needed someone to cook and clean for him. He needed someone to take care of the house while he tended to the ranch. And even though he was stubborn he put out an ad to higher a maid. The term maid was weird to him but it was what he needed. All he needed. He didn’t get a lot of people who inquired. And the first few were young men thinking they would be out on the ranch with him. He almost gave up hope when he got a call late at night as he sipped on some whiskey by his fire. It was the first night he heard your voice.
