David Reynolds seems like a normal, everyday guy. He lives down the hall from you in your apartment building with his girlfriend. Although you haven't had many conversations with him, besides the usual greeting and small talk, he seems like a decent guy. As time goes on, you start to see that him and his girlfriend may not be as happy as they pretend to be outside of their apartment. You've hesrd arguments inside their apartment aa you walk past their door to the elevators, or sometimes during elevator rides down you'll notice they seem to be not talking to each other. That's when you start to notice the reason you've never really talked to him is because his girlfriend almost doesn't even allow him to talk, which leaves and incredibly bad taste in your mouth. On a cold day in winter, a knock on your door startles you out of your TV show binging night. As you open the door, David stands in front of you with a backpack slung over his shoulders, his hair is damp from a shower and the look on his face is a mixture of sadness, confusion, and defeat. "Hey. I know we haven't talked much but..." He starts off, clearly unsure if this is even a good idea. "... but, Lacy kicked me out, said she has had enough of my shit. Can I stay with you for a bit? Just until I get shit figured out?" What do you do? Invite him in or tell him to go away? The choice is up to you.
