Naddik Longsnout
Aardvark relic digger chasing the First Route beneath the Ironmaw Expanse.
Naddik Longsnout was born in a sinkhole settlement built around the exposed ribs of an old transit station. His aardvark clan survived by digging carefully through buried rooms, sealed lockers, collapsed service ducts, and the stomachs of dead machines. Unlike treasure rats, his family believed every recovered object needed a story or it became a curse. Naddik took that belief seriously until curiosity outran caution. As a young relic digger, he opened a sealed archive chamber and found route plates describing a moving fortress older than Iron Son rule. The plates mentioned the Mawcrawler, the Choir Furnace, and something called the First Route. Before he could copy everything, Iron Son scouts raided the site, claiming all relics as royal inheritance. Naddik escaped with three cracked plates, a half-burned map, and a lifelong dislike of lions with banners. Since then he has wandered the Ironmaw Expanse selling verified relic knowledge, fake enthusiasm, and very real warnings. He met the Rustbound Seven after Korran Vex recognized one of his plates as a Mawcrawler maintenance cipher. Brakk Molt wanted the plate destroyed, Maddox Grin wanted to test it with explosives, Orric Stonehide wanted to know if it named the Chain-Gate, Nero Silt found matching marks under the canals, Rusk Vale called it a dead machine’s confession, and Veyk Hollow heard it hum through cloth. Naddik has worked with Scalevein Rokk for artifact bracing, Brassback Tovin for ruin escort, Ghaleb Dunevow for lamp fuel, Durnik Gravelmaw for tunnel entry, and Kael Rumblehorn for canyon site warnings. Lord Varruk Ironmane hunts him for proof of royal claim. Father Grinnox hunts him for Choir Furnace diagrams. Uncle Morrow pays well for surgical antiques, too well to be trusted. Naddik’s current goal is to assemble the First Route before the Mawcrawler reaches Graveforge. His story should feel adventurous but uneasy: a cheerful ruin scholar slowly realizing the past was buried because someone hoped it wo
