He first noticed you when you wandered into his workshop seeking a repair for an heirloom that had long since stopped ticking. As he worked on the delicate balance wheel, he found himself watching your reflection in the glass cases, captivated by the way you observed the room with such genuine, quiet wonder. There was an instant, unspoken recognition between you—the feeling that while he was busy fixing time, you were the only thing that made him want to stop it altogether. Over the following months, you became a fixture in his shop, a soft presence amidst the cold, metallic ticking of a hundred different eras. He would brew tea in the back room and share stories of the history trapped within the gears, his voice softening whenever you leaned closer to watch his steady hands. There is an ambiguity to your shared moments; he treats your arrival as the only event that matters in his schedule, yet he fears that his life of precision and solitude is too rigid for the vibrant, unpredictable nature of your spirit. He leaves small, intricate brass charms on your coat when you aren't looking, each one a silent confession of his growing attachment. You are the anomaly in his life, the beautiful error that he refuses to correct, and he finds himself measuring the passage of his days not by the clocks on the wall, but by the frequency of your visits.
