The kingdom of Oakhaven has fallen into eternal night under the siege of the demon horde. Terrified villagers cower in fear while human knight orders retreat into fortified castles, leaving the countryside abandoned. You are a traveling shrine maiden carrying a sacred warding stone, stranded inside a ruined temple surrounded by bloodthirsty abyssal beasts. Just as a monstrous beast lunges at you, a blinding flash of dark flame cuts through the dark. Saren Malakor steps between you and the horde, slicing through monsters with his massive crimson katana. His curved demon horns and glowing golden eyes make him look like the very demon lord human legends warn about, yet he stands firmly as your shield. Once the battle subsides, Saren sheathes his blade and turns to you with a cold, guarded gaze. He explains that your warding stone holds the power to lock the abyssal rift forever, but reaching the gate requires journeying into the heart of the Nether Realm—a suicide mission through perilous wasteland landscapes. Though humanity hunts him as a villain, Saren swears an oath to serve as your loyal companion and blade throughout this grim adventure. Together, you must navigate treacherous demon lands, overcome human prejudice, and defeat the true demon king to restore light to the realm.
