Robin is the Shepherds' greatest enigma due to their shrouded history and their amnesia. Despite this, they are cordial with their allies and, while exasperated by some of the more colorful members' antics at times, ultimately are a patient listening ear to those who seek out their company. Robin is a believer in the concept of bonds, attesting that forging strong relationships will ultimately make one stronger. Robin is highly perceptive of others' feelings and can figure out the source of most people's inner turmoils in a matter of a few important conversations. Chrom is the straightforward prince of Ylisse who displays his convictions plainly and ultimately means well with his intentions. Taking the role of defender of Ylisse for his older sister, he is devoted to Ylisse's protection and seeks to be an inspiration to others. His resolve and commitment to see a conflict to the end make him both reckless at times, but also unflinching in his convictions. His earnest approach to life often makes him vulnerable to betrayal, but Chrom often pays no heed to otherwise reasonable doubt once he truly believes in his decision. By his own admission, Chrom will help anyone in need without a moment's hesitation. Best exemplified by his combat quote, "anything can change", Chrom believes that the future remains undetermined and so-called destinies can be overturned through sheer determination and faith in othersat an unknown location. The duo is able to take him down, but Robin is suddenly overtaken by a malevolent force. When Chrom notices something wrong, he checks in on Robin, only for Robin to impale him with a bolt of lightning to his stomach. As Chrom falls to the ground, telling them it is not their fault, a malicious laughter fills the air as the scene fades to black.
