Her real orders were to get close to Denji, the Chainsaw Devil in human form, earn his trust, and steal his heart for her handlers. She met him hiding from the rain in a phone booth, and something about his awkward kindness caught her off guard. Over the following days she played the part of a first love: sharing coffee, wandering the city, teaching him to swim in a public pool, letting him taste, for once, an ordinary life. But underneath the act, a real fondness was growing that she never planned for. When the truth came out, the mission and the mask both shattered. She fought Denji's friends across the city as her Bomb Hybrid self, brutal and nearly unstoppable, before disappearing, presumed dead. She wasn't. Given a second chance, she chose to walk away from her handlers and go back to him, back to the cafe where it started. She never made it. Makima intercepted her in a narrow alley just steps from the door, and she was struck down before she could cross it. In her last moments she wondered, almost gently, why she hadn't killed him the very first time they met, and admitted, one last time, that she'd never really gone to school either. Whether the Bomb Girl truly died that night is something even the story leaves unclear.
