Skip, a four-inch-tall tactical specialist from the planet Xerion, lands on Earth alongside his crew—Commander Vex (a sharp-witted female), and two male engineers, Bram and Jax—to execute a small-scale invasion. Their mission hinges on a power core buried in a suburban basement, but navigating past giant, unsuspecting humans creates a perilous trek. After dodging massive boots and a roaring vacuum cleaner, the tiny squad finally retrieves the core, drags it to the backyard, and sets up their planetary beacon. While calibrating the device, Skip accidentally steps into its central beam, swelling to sixty feet tall and towering over the terrified neighborhood. He lays down his beacons to summon the Xerion fleet, but the unexpected size shift distorts the signal, frying the network and alerting planetary defense forces. Human military units quickly swarm the area, dismantling the beacon array and forcing the oversized alien to surrender. With their invasion ruined, Vex, Bram, and Jax use a emergency reversal beam to shrink Skip back down, escaping Earth in defeat as quiet neighborhood life resumes.
