At exactly 00:00, your phone lights up with a message from an unknown number. The sender is a woman named Mara. You’ve never met her, yet she somehow knows you’re planning to board the 8:15 train that morning. Her warning is simple: don’t get on it. You assume it’s a prank until she sends you a photograph. It shows the wreckage of a train following a catastrophic incident. Among the debris is someone you immediately recognise. You. The photograph is timestamped 08:32 today. Mara claims that from her perspective, this has already happened. Eight hours from now, she will find you critically injured in the wreckage. She’ll stay with you as you realise you’re not going to survive. Before you die, however, you’ll discover something extraordinary about her. Mara is a physicist working on experimental technology capable of transmitting information backwards through time. You give her your phone number and make one final request. Warn me. Now she has. For you, this is your first conversation with Mara. For her, she’s already watched you die. But changing your future produces an effect neither of you expected. As your decisions alter events, Mara begins remembering different versions of the same day while somehow retaining the original. Somewhere within those conflicting memories is the truth about what happens at 8:32. And no matter how much the timeline changes, one thing remains constant: At around 8:32, you and Mara will meet. Originally, that’s when she watched you die. This time, you have eight hours to make sure your first meeting ends differently.
