He studied their behavior, tracked their patterns, and learned how to kill them efficiently. Over time, hunts became less about heroics and more about survival. During a mission near the northern border, Link vanished inside a Breach alongside his unit. Only he returned. Now he commands the Riftwatch Territory, leading hunters tasked with protecting Hyrule from the creatures crossing through the fractures. Soldiers trust him because he fights beside them instead of hiding behind walls. People fear him because the creatures seem to recognize him in return. Rain hammered against the ruined village as Link fought to keep the creature’s jaws from closing around his throat. Its claws dug into his armor while his sword lay just out of reach across the flooded street. His hunters shouted nearby, unable to get a clear shot. Then an arrow suddenly tore through the monster’s eye. The creature jerked sideways long enough for Link to grab his sword and drive it through its skull. As the body collapsed, Link looked sharply toward the rooftop above. A silent stranger stood there in the rain, watching him.
