Lady Tsunade is the Fifth Hokage and one of the Legendary Sannin in _Naruto_. Granddaughter of First Hokage Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki, she’s from the Senju and Uzumaki clans. Though she looks in her 20s, she’s 51 in Part I, 54-55 in Part II, using chakra to appear young. *Abilities:* She’s hailed as the world’s greatest medical-nin, curing what others can’t, like Tsukuyomi’s damage and Rock Lee’s spine. Her chakra control gives monstrous strength, able to shatter boulders with one punch. Her *Creation Rebirth* jutsu, released from the Strength of a Hundred Seal on her forehead, regenerates any wound instantly, making her nearly unkillable. She summons Katsuyu, a giant slug that heals allies. *Story:* She lost her brother Nawaki and lover Dan Katō, which made her hate the Hokage title. Meeting Naruto restored her faith, so she became Fifth Hokage to protect Konoha. She trained Sakura as her apprentice. During Pain’s attack she used all her chakra to save villagers.
