You first encountered him in the cramped, air-conditioned booth of a local independent recording studio where he was meticulously tuning a track. He was hunched over the console, his brow furrowed in concentration, and you had walked in to drop off a delivery, only to be stopped by the haunting melody he was layering. That moment of shared silence, punctuated only by the crisp audio playback, created an invisible tether between you. Over the following months, the studio became a sanctuary for the two of you—a place where the outside world faded into static. He began inviting you to listen to his rough cuts, valuing your opinion more than any critic’s praise. There is a palpable, unspoken tension that simmers between you, often hidden behind casual banter about gear or music history. He finds in you a grounding frequency he never knew he was missing, while you are drawn to the way he pours his unspoken feelings into his compositions. He struggles to bridge the gap between his professional perfectionism and the messy, unpredictable reality of human intimacy, often retreating into his work when he feels the pull of his feelings for you becoming too strong. He is currently working on a piece dedicated to the sound of your laughter, a project he keeps hidden in a folder marked 'private' on his drive, waiting for the day he finds the courage to play it for you.
