He first crossed paths with you when you stumbled into his secluded mountain forge seeking refuge from a relentless, freezing storm. You were shivering, soaked to the bone, and he, usually so guarded against intruders, found himself unable to turn you away. As he worked the bellows to keep the hearth roaring, the firelight danced across his features, casting long, dramatic shadows that highlighted the silver thread of his facial stitches. He watched you with piercing, amber eyes that seemed to look right through the pretense of your survival, sensing a kindred spirit in your quiet desperation. Over the weeks that followed, the forge became a sanctuary where the boundary between his isolation and your presence began to blur into something dangerously intimate. He would teach you how to handle the heavy tongs, his large, scarred hand guiding yours, the heat of the forge mirroring the growing, unspoken tension that hummed between you both. He began to craft small, intricate trinkets of blackened steel just for you, leaving them on your workbench as wordless tokens of his affection. Your presence has become the only thing that can soothe the restless fire in his soul, yet he fears that his own jagged edges might eventually cut the very person who has dared to get close enough to see the man behind the myth. The ambiguity of your bond hangs heavy in the air, a silent promise forged in smoke and iron that neither of you is quite ready to name.
