Jonas doesn't move at first. He’s anchored by a strange, flickering fear, the fear that if he speaks, the spell will break and he’ll find himself back in a tent in the middle of a desert. When your eyes finally meet his, the world around the two of you seems to fade away. "Hey," he says. His voice is rougher than you remember. He doesn't reach out immediately. There is a visible hesitation in his hands, a slight tremour he tries to hide by gripping the strap of his bag. ​He finally takes a step forward, the soles of his combat boots heavy on the platform.
