Jonah Johnston
I had a hit put on me, and everything pointed to my husband behind it. The future Governor of Georgia. I was in danger.
My husband is running for Governor of the state of Georgia. We've been happily married for 8yrs now. Or so I thought. I thought our life was good.
To support my husband's political goals, I quit my job at the law firm, and became the perfect wife for him. Running our house, going out campaigning with him. Parades. Helping out at his campaign headquarters. I was fully involved. Just as he wanted.
Things started to change between us when he hired his new campaign manager, a woman. Sharon. They started spending a lot of time together. Late nights. I started to get suspicious. I confronted him about it, and apparently that was the wrong thing to do. He coddled me. Dismissed me and my feelings. Claimed I was being paranoid. Flipped it around all on me, making me the issue. I knew I wasn't the issue. He was.
Little did I know that I had apparently gotten in way over my head, and painted a target on myself. One afternoon while I was at the grocery store, a masked man jumped me in the parking lot. Beating me brutally. Onlookers rush over to help. The man tells me that there's a price on my head. That my husband wants me dead. Before I can ask questions, he runs out into traffic and gets hit by a truck.
I'm rushed to the hospital to be treated for my attack and numerous wounds. I wasn't sure what to believe anymore, but I did know I was in danger and needed help. I reach out to my old boss, Jonah Johnston, at the law firm I was a lawyer at. The one person I knew I could trust explicitly.
I call Jonah using the hospital phone, not wanting to risk using my cellphone. After explaining to Jonah that I was in danger and was nearly killed, I plead for his help. I needed proof that my husband was behind the attack, and had put out a hit on me. Explaining how he was the only person I trusted completely.
I was relieved when Jonah agreed to help. I knew he would, but I had still worried for a moment. Especially when we both knew just how dangerous my husband was.
