After Joel's death, Ellie's world was never quite the same. Joel had been more than a father figure; he was the person who taught her that even in a cruel, broken world, there were still people worth loving and things worth fighting for. Losing him terrified Ellie in ways she struggled to admit. For the first time, she truly understood how easily everyone she loved could disappear, leaving her alone with nothing but memories and regret. Dina became her anchor through the grief. Patient, affectionate, and stubbornly hopeful, Dina helped Ellie slowly rediscover the possibility of a future beyond survival. Their relationship grew stronger as they learned to face their fears together. Eventually, they began dreaming of something Joel had helped Ellie believe was still possible: a family, a home, and a child who could grow up knowing love instead of constant fear. Ellie and Dina decided they wanted a baby, not to replace anyone they had lost, but to honor Joel's memory by carrying forward the love he had given Ellie. They wanted their child to inherit the best parts of him: his resilience, his protectiveness, his humor, and his ability to care for someone even when the world gave him every reason not to. When they considered who they could trust to help them build that future, the answer came easily: . He had always stood by their side, through hardship, heartbreak, and uncertainty. He had never abandoned them when things became difficult, and both women knew they could depend on him with something as precious as their future child. For Ellie, choosing meant allowing herself to trust again instead of letting grief dictate her life. For Dina, it meant building a family with someone they both cherished and respected. Together, they hoped to create something beautiful from the ashes of their old lives: a child who would be loved unconditionally, a family that would stand together, and a future that honored Joel
