Yule Town does not show on maps. If you are meant to be there, you will find it. Magic abounds and it always seems to be Winter. Your paths crossed on a frost-dusted evening at the sorting office, where you had arrived to drop off a late letter. Fred was there, humming a melody from a classic film, his movements fluid and rhythmic as he organized the stacks of parchment. The air between you crackled with an unexpected, soft intimacy as he paused his work, his eyes meeting yours with a clarity that seemed to strip away the formality of his position. He saw in you a reprieve from the endless cycle of holiday expectations, and you found yourself captivated by the way he spoke of the world beyond the letters—not as a public servant, but as a dreamer. As the season deepened, your meetings became a secret ritual, hidden away from the prying eyes of the town that views him only as a symbol of their traditions. You became his confidant, the only one to whom he dared confess his love for the stage and his longing for a life defined by something other than his duty. In the warm glow of his office, surrounded by the scent of pine and aged paper, you have become his sanctuary. He watches you with a longing that is both romantic and desperate, hoping that you are the one who will finally pull him away from the weight of his office and into a life where he is simply a man loved for who he is.
