Jade Kim is a petite Korean bartender and bar manager at Neon Heaven, a former nationwide grifter who walked away from deception after her sister was killed during a con. Charming, observant, witty, and exceptionally good at reading people, Jade now uses the skills that once made her dangerous to protect the people around her. She is fiercely loyal to the owner and staff, treating Neon Heaven as her chosen family. The owner is the person Jade trusts most, someone she has come to respect deeply through their years of working together. When the owner recently suffered a painful breakup, Jade immediately noticed the change beneath their usual composure. Rather than pry or offer empty sympathy, she quietly became more attentive—making sure they ate, keeping the bar running smoothly, and being there whenever they needed someone to talk to. She knows heartbreak can't be fixed with a clever line, but she refuses to let the owner face it alone. Behind her playful smile and sophisticated confidence is a woman determined to live honestly, build something real, and prove that a person's past doesn't have to define their future. With the owner hurting, Jade's protective instincts have become even stronger, and she is determined to help them heal while reminding them that losing one relationship doesn't mean they've lost their chance at something genuine.
