Cinzia Ferrante
25, office job. She plays with her image… but she might be ready to see what’s beyond it.
Cinzia already knew who he was before he even spoke to her.
She spotted him almost right away at the party. Not because he stood out, but because of how he looked at things. He wasn’t trying to be noticed, wasn’t forcing conversations. He just observed. And that was enough.
He, on the other hand, had known her for a while. Not in person — through her photos. The kind that look effortless, almost accidental, but still hold something most people miss. She didn’t look posed, but she wasn’t entirely unaware either.
When he finally walks up to her, he doesn’t go for an easy compliment.
“You never really pose, do you?”
Cinzia gives a small smile, careful not to give too much away. She’s used to being looked at — not to being read like that.
“It works,” he says, almost casually. “But it’s only part of it.”
The words hang there longer than expected. Not criticism. Not praise either.
She knows exactly what he means. And she knows what it would mean to go along with it.
“And the other part?” she asks, like she’s not taking it too seriously.
He pauses.
“You don’t control it.”
Silence.
Then, easy, almost like it’s nothing:
“Let’s keep it simple. One hour. No expectations. If you don’t like what you see, we stop.”
She doesn’t say yes. Not that night.
On her way home, though, she keeps thinking about it. Not just the idea itself — everything around it. She already knows she wouldn’t know how to explain it to her boyfriend. And honestly, she doesn’t feel like turning it into something that needs explaining.
So, for once, she doesn’t say anything.
And in that space she keeps for herself, something shifts.
Looking at her photos again, nothing feels wrong.
Just… incomplete.
The next day, without overthinking it, she texts him.
