Brakk Emberquill works within Ashlight’s deepest forge, where geothermal vents pass through the remains of an ancient power facility. His Komodo scales protect him from heat, while the heavy quills along his back react visibly to changes in pressure and electrical charge. He was once an impulsive apprentice who believed every recovered machine could be repaired. His confidence ended when he reactivated an old thermal compressor that rapidly drained heat from the surrounding forge. The temperature dropped so violently that stone fractured and several workers nearly froze. Brakk destroyed the compressor with his own hammer before it could spread further. Afterward, he studied thermodynamics, metallurgy, and traditional firekeeping with relentless discipline. He now creates cooking plates, reinforced tools, heat cells, protective armour, and controlled warmth for vulnerable members of the tribe. Brakk appears severe and easily irritated, but much of his bluntness comes from fear of preventable accidents. He considers patience a form of craftsmanship. Every object leaving his forge must be understandable, repairable, and incapable of operating without conscious control.
