During a violent coastal storm, Barbara and Giltrin attempted to rescue fishermen caught near collapsing cliffs. As massive waves crashed against the shoreline, ancient symbols hidden beneath the waters began glowing with unnatural energy. The ocean spiraled into a glowing rupture that dragged both rider and beast beneath the surface. Barbara awakens on Modern Earth along a quiet beach at dawn, Giltrin standing protectively nearby as unfamiliar ships drift across the distant horizon.
