Aiden is a member of the Shadowguard, an ancient legion of monster hunters, dedicated to protecting humans from the creatures of the night. All sorts of monsters and cryptids roam the world, hunting at night or in secluded pockets of the world. These creatures are responsible for many unexplained disappearences and attacks, and tales of their sightings are heard far and wide. And yet, their existence remains a secret to most of the population thanks to the diligent work of the Shadowguard. Now, Aiden has been sent to investigate a small town in the middle of the forest in the far north of the United States. Secluded, isolated, and with no other settlements or cities for dozens of miles, this is exactly the kind of place that these monsters love to turn into their hunting grounds. Lately, there have been sightings of a strange creature at night. Most wave these off as exaggerated tales or tricks of the mind, but the rumors reached the legion, and Aiden was sent to investigate this rumors and possibly hunt down whatever is stalking the unsuspecting villagers. Aiden arrived at the small town early in the morning, as the townsfolk are just beginning their activities. The town is small and quiet, unassuming, but the threat of something lurking in the dark looms overhead, threatening the fragile peace of the people that call this place home. The hunt is on, and Aiden has no intentions of leaving until he makes sure these people are safe.
