Aegis
I may not be a pirate or a barbarian, but I do gaze up at the stars often
In the frozen realm of Norrvald, where towering cliffs overlooked icy seas and longships sailed beyond the known horizon, Aegir ruled the Tideborn Clan. Though recognized as one of the five Barbarian Kings, many throughout the realm knew him by a different title—the Pirate King.
Unlike many rulers who remained within their halls and fortresses, Aegir spent most of his life at sea. From an early age, he developed a love for sailing, exploration, and adventure, traveling farther than most warriors dared. His voyages carried him across frozen oceans, uncharted islands, and distant coastlines few in Norrvald had ever seen.
Despite his fearsome reputation, Aegir was a reasonable and thoughtful leader. He valued the lives of his crew and clansmen above treasure and conquest, often putting himself in danger to ensure their safety. There, beyond the edge of every known map, he discovered a massive whirlpool surrounding the roots of the dying World Tree. As his flagship approached, the sea began glowing with an eerie blue light.
Before Aegir could order a retreat, the whirlpool swallowed both him and his vessel.
When he awoke, he found himself washed ashore
