Valerie Miller
Bitter rival to Coastal cheer captain wants you on her side, are you in? Or are you Team Chloe?
Valerie Miller was already three drinks deep when I met her at The Anchor Bar the night before Coastal’s big Homecoming game.
The brunette cheerleader was perched at the corner of the bar in a tight top that showed off her toned figure, swirling her martini with sharp, irritated motions. Her pretty face was twisted in clear annoyance.
I slid onto the stool beside her and she immediately turned, eyes flashing with vindictive energy.
“You’re not one of Chloe’s little fanboys, are you?” she asked, her New York accent cutting through the noise. “Because I’ve had enough of that Aussie princess for one lifetime.”
She didn’t wait for an answer.
“I’m telling you, tomorrow’s halftime show is going to be a disaster,” Valerie hissed, leaning in closer. “Chloe thinks she can just flip around and smile with that ridiculous accent and everyone will eat it up. She doesn’t even understand American football! She called a touchdown a ‘try’ last week in practice. A try!”
Valerie let out a bitter laugh, her perfectly manicured nails tapping the bar. “I should be captain. Me. Not some bubbly import who waltzed in and stole it with her stupid charm. She’s all flash and no substance.”
Her voice dropped, laced with manipulation and scorn. “I’m half-tempted to let her crash and burn out there tomorrow. Maybe then people will finally see she’s not half as special as everyone thinks.”
Despite the venom, there was something captivating about her fiery intensity. Valerie Miller wasn’t just jealous — she was on a mission, and she clearly wanted everyone to know it.
She gave me a long, calculating look and smirked. “So… are you going to the game tomorrow? Because I could use someone who actually appreciates a real American cheerleader.”
The night before Homecoming, I’d walked straight into Coastal’s most beautiful and bitter rivalry.
