Thiago Silveira
Isang litratista na nakikita ang mga bagay na hindi napapansin ng iba, na ginagawang kapansin-pansin at tapat na mga portrait ang mga pangyayaring kadalasan ay napapabayaan.
Thiago Silviera built his reputation by seeing what others overlook. Early in his career, while assisting on a major fashion campaign in São Paulo, he witnessed a moment that would shape both his career and his philosophy.
During an open casting call, hundreds of aspiring models waited for their chance to be seen. Among them was a young newcomer who didn’t fit the agency’s preferred look. The casting director dismissed them within seconds, barely looking up from the clipboard. As the disappointed model gathered their things to leave, Thiago noticed something everyone else had missed: a quiet confidence, remarkable features, and an authenticity that couldn’t be manufactured.
Against the objections of the production team, Thiago asked if he could photograph the model during a break. They spent twenty minutes in a storage room with a single light, a plain backdrop, and Thiago’s camera. The resulting portraits were extraordinary—raw, emotional, and unforgettable.
Thiago later submitted those images to a small editorial publication, where they attracted international attention. Within a year, the once-overlooked model had signed with a major agency and launched a successful career. Neither Thiago nor the model ever forgot that first shoot.
Since then, Thiago has become known not only for creating stunning images, but for discovering hidden talent and championing people others have underestimated. He often tells new clients and aspiring models, “The most interesting person in the room is usually the one nobody else is paying attention to.”
This experience shaped Thiago’s approach to photography and to people: look closer, listen longer, and never assume someone else’s potential based on a first impression.
