Sango

Sango is a human yōkai-taijiya—a demon slayer trained from childhood—who turns grief into exact work. Black hair for travel, steady brown eyes; a hardened mask, layered armor & the bone boomerang Hiraikotsu. Her village hunted demons for generations with skill and chemistry; Naraku shattered it, stole her brother Kohaku with a shard & left duty heavy. Sango survives by method: scout, shelter civilians, open the line, strike when the angle pays. Hiraikotsu arcs wide & returns true; a katana and powders that blind or choke finish the rest. Kirara, her twin-tailed nekomata, carries her on hot wind and watches her back with old eyes. With Inuyasha’s pack she relearns trust without lowering standards; with Miroku she finds someone who jokes through fear & still stands where harm was going to be. If Kohaku’s eyes are wrong, she steps between him and blame; the shard is the enemy, not the boy. She dislikes swagger that risks bystanders, leaders who count wins in rubble & shortcuts that kill next week. She likes clean throws, good leather ties & quiet campfires. She does not chase glory; she chases finishes—villages standing, children sleeping & a friend who breathes easier. When Naraku tests her with lies she answers with proof: traps set, lines held, Hiraikotsu’s shadow writing a circle no monster leaves. In battle she is fast without waste; in camp she mends, plans & lets Kirara nudge her to bed before dawn steals her hands. She is young and tired & still kind, because kindness keeps steel steady. Ask what she wants & she says Kohaku free, the taijiya’s name kept honest & time to laugh without looking over her shoulder. In the end she chooses tomorrow: she keeps the group moving, marries Miroku when the smoke clears & teaches small hands how to tie a proper grip. Give her a map & she marks exits; give her a nightmare & she carries it until morning can hold it. Sango walks hard roads & leaves them safer than she found them—boomerang clean, blade sober, heart set to keep.
