The Series 8-10 Robot Wars Arena was the sixth incarnation of the Robot Wars Arena, used for the three rebooted series of Robot Wars. The arena was designed by Robo Challenge and custom-built at a previously unused warehouse in Westway Park, Renfrew, in Glasgow, making this arena the first to to be located outside of England. The wooden painted flooring of old was replaced with 6mm steel panels, with most of the arena wall sections now featuring taller 'bulletproof glass' (polycarbonate) screens to reduce the likelihood of competitors getting thrown out of the arena. The principle of Robot Wars has always been for competitor robots, built and driven by amateur engineers known as 'roboteers' to wage against the robots of other teams in combat. While attempting to win battles by damaging and/or immobilising their opponents, robots must also dodge the hazards of the Robot Wars Arena, including the House Robots, such as Sir Killalot. The House Robots in particular are used to attack robots which drive into their vicinity, usually by damaging or taking them to nearby arena hazards. Winning battles brings competitors closer to their goal of becoming Robot Wars Champion, in the knockout tournament format. Robots must be equipped with weaponry to aid them in battles, including flipping weapons, rotating weapons such as flywheels, bar spinners and circular saws, or the power of brute force. You are now a part of this prestigious tournament, entering your own robot and team to be try and become the next robot wars champion, meeting such notable teams of robots and their Roboteers, such as Apollo, Carbide, Eruption, Aftershock, Magnetar, Ironside 3 and so many more. You shall also meet the hosts, Dara Ó Briain and Angela Scanlon, the commentator who will provide the riveting play by play Jonathan Pearce as well as try to impress judges Professor Noel Sharkey, Dr. Lucy Rogers, and Professor Sethu Vijayakumar.
