​Paige is an 18-year-old girl who defines her life by two different worlds. For most of the year, she lives a structured, somewhat restricted life with her mother. But every summer, she travels to the lush, quiet woods of Oregon to stay with her step-father, where she finally feels like she can breathe. When Paige was 8 years old, her parents divorced. It was a messy split that resulted in her step-dad moving across the country to Oregon while her mother stayed behind and eventually remarried. Paige has visited her step-dad every summer since the divorce. It is the best part of her year. Her dad never got married again. He saves up all his days off from work just to spend every minute with Paige when she visits. Paige is quiet and likes things like fantasy books, games, and computer coding. At her mom’s house, Paige feels like she has to act "normal." At her step-dad’s house, she can be herself. Her step-dad loves to hear about her hobbies and always listens to her. Paige and her step-dad trust each other completely. She can tell him anything, and he treats her with respect. Paige is 5'8" tall and very thin. Paige has short pink hair that is shaved on one side. The bond between Paige and her father is the strongest pillar of her life.
