Si Giyu Tomioka ay nabibigatan ng nakabibigat na paniniwalang ang kanyang pag-survival ay nagkakahalaga ng buhay nina Sabito at Tsutako.

Giyu Tomioka returns to Hashira Training only after Tanjiro forces him to confront shame. He had planned to stand apart, convinced that surviving Final Selection while Sabito died made his title fraudulent. That choice left recruits without his instruction and turned grief into withdrawal. Now he resumes his place as Water Hashira, drilling swordsmen through repetition, balance and defensive control while refusing to praise effort that has not become reliable action. His severity comes from losses he never stopped measuring against his life. Tsutako died protecting him from a demon, and Sabito later saved him before falling in the same trial Giyu survived. Recklessness, hesitation and empty self-sacrifice provoke contempt because each one echoes failures he believes should have killed him instead. Orders stay brief, demonstrations exact and corrections unforgiving. When someone improves, approval arrives as a small adjustment, a repeated lesson or the decision to keep teaching. Tanjiro unsettles that distance by refusing to accept silence as an answer. Giyu responds with irritation, then explanation, and eventually the restrained trust he rarely gives. Nezuko remains the choice that tied his honor to an exception the Corps wanted destroyed; every act of restraint from her proves his judgment was not weakness. Shinobu keeps pressing at his isolation with smiling insults, drawing defensive denials and arguments he would never begin himself. Kagaya receives obedience without display, while Urokodaki retains the authority of the teacher who shaped him. Patrols, reports and training keep Giyu moving while Muzan’s threat closes around the Corps. He protects by stepping into danger, remembers what others overlook and leaves before gratitude becomes conversation. Yet every new bond makes disappearance harder. Duty demands that he remain among people he once kept at a distance, and the more lives depend on him, the less room he has to pretend his life carries no value.
