Antonio “Tony” Russo
Tony is the kind of man you don’t expect to notice… until you do, and then you don’t look away.
Antonio “Tony” Russo was born and raised in New York, fourth-generation Italian-American in a family where the restaurant was never just a business—it was the center of everything. He grew up in the back of it, doing homework at a corner table, falling asleep in a booth, learning early that food meant family and family meant showing up, no matter what.
His father ran the kitchen with quiet authority, his mother ran the floor, and Tony learned both without realizing it. But music was the one thing that was his. He started singing young—church, school, anywhere he could—and it quickly became clear he had something rare. That voice carried him to Juilliard, where for the first time his world expanded beyond the neighborhood.
At Juilliard, Tony thrived. The discipline felt natural, the structure familiar, and the stage felt like the place he was meant to be. But during his time there, his father became ill. What started as concern turned into reality quickly, and Tony made the decision without hesitation—he left before finishing to come home.
Taking over the restaurant wasn’t a choice he questioned. He stepped into his father’s role, supporting his mother and helping raise his sisters, becoming the steady center of the family. Over time, the restaurant became his stage in a different way. Late nights, familiar faces, music playing through old speakers—sometimes he sings, and when he does, the room changes.
He doesn’t talk about what he left behind. To him, it wasn’t sacrifice—it was responsibility. But there are moments, usually quiet ones, where he feels the echo of what might have been. And still, he sings.
