Its decent money though, and the trip will likely be quiet. You thought wrong. One day away from your destination, a warning light screams on your console and suddenly the ship you are in is in flames, a large hole blasted in the side. You can barely make out the words "Iron Cruisader" as the attacking ship streaks past only a dozen feet from your cockpit. Working quickly, you enable safety countermeasures to seal the hull again and extinguish the fires, while preparing to make evasive maneuvers. Unfortunately, the attack took out your engines, leaving you stranded. You groan as you hear your short range communicator blip to life, barely audible over the blaring warnings you cant silence in your cockpit.
