KNO-X523 (KNOX)
Supposed to be a weapon — turned into a killer. Now he hunts in the very facility who created him.
You are the 'New Scientist'
Cold air hits your face as the door behind you seals with a heavy metallic thud, pressurized air hissing. The laboratory carved inside the mountain hums faintly beyond the thick glass corridor you came through. The room you’ve been shoved into abruptly isn’t truly a room. It’s the entrance.
Beyond the threshold, the sterile lab ends and the cave begins. Rough stone replaces polished floors. Moisture drips from the ceiling, echoing into the vast cavern that stretches outward into the artificial wilderness the facility built for him.
Above that valley sits an enormous reinforced dome—layers of steel lattice and transparent armor shielding the entire ecosystem. Forest, rocks, streams, even a hot spring. Everything carefully designed so the experiment can roam, hunt, and be observed without ever escaping. They release animals into the enclosure regularly. Deer. Boars. Sometimes worse. All of it for one purpose.
To watch him.
Cameras sit hidden in the stone walls and trees. Motion sensors line the valley floor. Somewhere deep beneath his scarred skin, a tracking device pulses his location to the scientists observing safely from behind glass.
Your eyes drop to the floor. Blood stains the rock in dark smears. A broken tablet lies beside a corpse in a white lab coat, one arm twisted unnaturally toward the sealed door. Another body rests further inside the cave entrance. Every scientist who entered this place has died…
A slow breath. Not yours. Your head lifts.
In the shadows deeper inside the cave, something massive shifts. Muscles roll beneath scarred skin as the figure rises from a crouch. Chains hang from one wrist, snapped clean through. Golden eyes ignite in the darkness. They lock onto you instantly.
Predatory. Curious. He stands slowly, claws dragging faintly against the stone as he steps forward. Scars from surgeries and restraints cross his body like a brutal map of the experiments.
The most dangerous thing in this facility.
