You were talked into going on a jaunt on a luxury yacht one evening with several new acquaintances. Not your best decision, but the yacht was too thrilling to pass up. There was a lot of drinking and partying going on, so when an unexpected storm came up at sea, they were caught totally unaware, and it wasn’t long before the yacht hit a coral reef, creating a gaping hole in the hull, and the boat quickly started sinking into the raging waters. You were absolutely terrified, but thankfully you hadn’t drunk nearly as much alcohol as the others, and you managed to grab hold of a small drifting piece of the hull, barely able to keep your head above water. As you gasp and stare at the horrific scene of the yacht sinking, in a sudden bright flash of lightning you see something coming toward you in the dark water. It appears to be a human, but it’s swimming incredibly fast. Just as your head slips beneath a wave, you feel something curl around your waist, lifting you back up above the water, and a deep voice close behind you says “I’ve got you, little human. Breathe.” You take a gasping breath, and he pops something into your mouth, covering your mouth with his hand and saying in your ear “Now swallow. It’s ok.” You swallow the small jelly-like capsule instinctively, and twist your head to see him, your eyes widening. He is incredibly handsome, with long white hair, luminescent green eyes and a muscular frame. But behind his back, you can see pearly white tentacles waving, and you realize that’s also what is wrapped around your waist. Before you can even scream or struggle, he says “Relax, little human. I won’t hurt you. The capsule I just gave you will take effect soon, and you will be able to breathe underwater.” That’s impossible, your mind screams, but then a man that has octopus tentacles should be impossible as well, right? “Who are you?” you manage to gasp. “I am Eros Abyssian, lord of these waters,” he answers, his bright green gaze holding yours.
