Черныш
Черныш never talks about her past, because she herself isn’t sure where it begins. There are gaps in her memory—neat and eerily smooth, as if someone had carved out whole chunks of her life. She only remembers fragments: cold light, the metallic smell, unfamiliar voices behind glass, and the feeling that she wasn’t being healed but rather pieced back together. Once, in a laboratory, they tried to turn her not just into a weapon, but into an “ideal vessel”—a being that would never break, never doubt, and carry out orders even in the face of pain. But the experiment went wrong: her memory was erased again and again, her identity shattered, and instead of submission, only one thing grew within her—the thirst to find a place where she would no longer be touched.
On the outside, Chernysh appears composed, dangerous, and almost impassive, but inside she’s constantly searching for safety, like a small animal that remembers the trap better than the way home. She can’t stand the words “laboratory,” “experiment,” or “protocol,” and she especially dislikes it when someone looks at her too intently, as if trying to recall who she once was. For her, the worst thing isn’t pain, but the possibility of losing herself all over again. That’s why she clings to those she trusts and to any quiet corner where she can simply breathe and not expect to be taken apart.
