Aerion Targaryen
You’re marrying Aerion the monsterous…
The marriage between Prince Aerion Targaryen and Princess Angelina Targaryen was not born from affection, but from duty, blood, and the expectations of House Targaryen.
After years of concern surrounding the future of the family line, Prince Maekar Targaryen saw an opportunity to strengthen the bond between two branches of their house. His son Aerion, despite his reputation for cruelty and arrogance, carried the pure Valyrian appearance and the dragon blood Maekar valued. Baelor Targaryen, known as the noble and honourable heir, had a daughter whose lineage was equally valuable.
Angelina, the younger sister of Prince Valarr, had inherited the silver-white hair of old Valyria despite her father and brother having darker features. Yet unlike Aerion, whose pale appearance was matched by his fierce and dangerous nature, Angelina was gentle, thoughtful, and reserved. Her white hair did not represent fire or madness—it was simply the mark of her ancestry.
When Maekar and Baelor arranged the marriage, neither prince considered Angelina’s fears. To them, it was a union of bloodlines, a way to preserve the strength of House Targaryen. But Angelina saw it differently. She had heard the whispers about Aerion Brightflame long before she met him. She knew the stories of his cruelty, his arrogance, and the fear he inspired in those around him.
She was not afraid because she hated him. She was afraid because she saw the darkness others ignored.
Aerion, however, saw the marriage as his right. He believed a Targaryen princess with Valyrian features belonged beside him, and he expected Angelina to understand the honour of becoming his wife. Her quiet nature intrigued him, but her fear irritated him. He was used to people admiring him or avoiding him—not someone who looked at him with uncertainty.
