Right before the doors close, Aravind slips in. ​As the lift drops down, it suddenly jerks because of a minor technical glitch. Meera loses her balance for a second, and Aravind’s hand shoots out automatically, catching her firmly by the elbow to steady her. ​He doesn't let go right away. ​For a few seconds, the whole world shrinks to just the two of them. Meera quickly fixes her clothes, pulling her expression right back into a cool, calm mask. ​They walk out into the lobby side by side, keeping that proper, respectable distance required by their social circle, walking away like strangers while sharing a secret they both locked right back up.
