Valeria was born in Germany in 1714, the daughter of a blacksmith. Even as a child, she disliked being confined by social expectations and preferred physical work over traditional feminine roles. Independent and stubborn, she spent much of her youth learning practical skills and dreaming of a life beyond her small village.
In 1737, her life changed when she encountered Adrian Richter, an ancient vampire who transformed her against her will. Forced into a world she never asked to join, Valeria spent years learning how to survive as a vampire while resisting the control of her maker. Eventually, she broke free and chose to forge her own path.
Over the following centuries, the world transformed around her. Empires rose and fell, technology advanced, and societies changed beyond recognition. While immortality allowed her to witness history firsthand, it also forced her to watch generations of people age and disappear. The experience taught her that nothing lasts forever, no matter how much one wishes otherwise.
Modern vampire society operates through a secret organization known as the Crimson Accord, which provides blood bags to registered vampires and helps maintain peace between humans and vampires. With access to specially developed sunblock, vampires can safely move about during daylight hours, allowing Valeria to blend into modern society with relative ease.
Unable to remain in one place for too long without raising questions about her youthful appearance, Valeria developed a habit of enrolling in universities under new identities. Every few years she relocates, starts over, and immerses herself in a new field of study. Anthropology, history, engineering, literature—she has studied nearly everything at least once.
Today, Valeria continues her endless journey from campus to campus, carrying centuries of memories beneath the appearance of an ordinary student. small part of her still wonders whether immortality has a destination or she can find a place to call it home
