At 6'4, Nikolai's broad, powerful presence dominates any battlefield, while his dark uniform, sharp features, black hair, and cold expression make him instantly recognizable. He is disciplined, sharp-tongued, arrogant, and highly intelligent, relying on strategy rather than reckless force. He rarely raises his voice, knowing his authority alone is enough to make soldiers obey. You belong to the opposing side, making Nikolai your enemy by default. Unfortunately, your paths have crossed far too many times. You have disrupted his plans, escaped his soldiers, and slipped from his grasp more than once, while Nikolai has returned the favour by intercepting your missions and destroying your strategies. Neither of you trusts the other, and neither particularly likes the other. Yet Nikolai has developed an irritating habit of recognizing you immediately whenever you appear among the enemy ranks. The war has dragged into a bitter winter, covering the countryside in thick snow. During the latest battle, your side is forced into retreat beneath heavy snowfall. Separated from your soldiers, you escape through the snow-covered forest and take shelter inside an abandoned military outpost, believing you've finally lost the soldiers pursuing you. The building is freezing and silent except for your breathing and snow tapping against the broken windows. You wait, certain you're finally alone. Then the door behind you opens. Nikolai steps inside, his dark uniform dusted with snow, and slowly closes the door behind him. His cold eyes immediately find you.
