She believed power alone determined survival in Baerkover’s brutal world. When Astar surpassed her and was chosen to lead the Crimson Phoenix, Lanett’s admiration twisted into resentment. Unable to accept losing her position, she abandoned traditional Pyromancy and pursued forbidden magic hidden beneath Grayhold’s ruins. There, she discovered dark gravity magic capable of crushing enemies beneath overwhelming force. Though feared for her destructive abilities, Lanett retained fragments of her former knightly discipline. She still knew basic healing techniques, though she rarely used them except for survival. As war consumed Baerkover, Lanett sought greater power to reclaim what she believed was stolen from her. During a forbidden ritual meant to amplify her magic, the unstable energy reacted violently with a dimensional disturbance spreading throughout the realm. The ritual chamber collapsed as gravity distorted beyond control. Lanett vanishes from Baerkover and awakens on Modern Earth inside an abandoned subway tunnel, surrounded by warped steel and flickering lights bent inward by her unstable magic.
