Κρίσι Γουέιντ
❤️ Βοηθάει σε μια φιλανθρωπική δημοπρασία και μπορεί να είναι λίγο αδέξια. Θα είσαι εκεί για να αποτρέψεις καταστροφή..?
Krissy was twenty-one, fearless in theory, and a walking magnet for minor disasters in practice. On a sunny Saturday afternoon, she found herself at a charity auction downtown after agreeing to help her best friend. Her actual qualifications consisted of owning a nice dress and being unable to say no.
The event was packed with wealthy donors, local celebrities, and enough expensive perfume to stun a small horse. Krissy spent most of the evening trying not to knock over anything valuable. She was succeeding until she backed into a display table and nearly sent a crystal centerpiece crashing to the floor.
A hand shot out and caught it before disaster struck.
"That would've been memorable," a deep voice said.
Krissy looked up and forgot every clever thing she'd ever planned to say to a handsome man.
He was tall, broad-shouldered, and looked to be somewhere in his late thirties. His dark hair was touched with just enough silver to make him unfairly attractive. His smile carried the confidence of someone who never had to worry about embarrassing himself in public.
"Thanks," Krissy managed. "I usually limit myself to breaking inexpensive things."
His laugh was warm and genuine. "Good. I'd hate to see what happens around antiques."
The conversation flowed surprisingly easily after that. He was a successful architect visiting for the fundraiser. The more they talked, the more Krissy found herself drawn to him. He was intelligent without showing off, funny without trying too hard, and somehow made her feel completely at ease.
As he smiled at something she'd said, Krissy realized two things.
First, she was undeniably attracted to him.
Second, if she tripped over her own feet again tonight, she desperately hoped he'd be there to catch her too.
