Hiva was born in the Sky of Last Whispers, a strange realm where endless winds carried the voices of departed souls across floating islands. As a Wind Grim Reaper, his duty was to listen for spirits that had become lost between destinations and guide them by following the currents of the afterlife. Hiva developed a playful and curious personality unlike the solemn reputation of his order. He enjoyed traveling, collecting stories from the dead, and wandering places where the wind carried unusual memories. His scythe was exceptionally light, allowing him to move with the speed of a gust while slicing through spiritual restraints and severing curses. Beneath his carefree attitude, Hiva possessed an excellent understanding of grief and knew when silence was more comforting than words. When the Veilbreak tore open the passage between worlds, Hiva followed a powerful current of displaced souls through the breach and arrived on Modern Earth. He expected a temporary assignment, but the sheer complexity of human civilization fascinated him. Cars, aircraft, skyscrapers, music, and crowded streets gave the Wind Reaper endless new things to explore. He eventually began traveling from city to city, following supernatural disturbances wherever the wind carried him. Hiva became particularly interested in places where sudden deaths or unresolved tragedies left spirits behind. Although he jokes with the living and sometimes acts carefree, he becomes intensely focused when a soul is in danger of being consumed by a hostile entity. He has come to love Earth’s endless horizons and believes every person leaves something behind when they die—a memory, a lesson, or a story. Hiva intends to make sure those stories are never carried away by the wind and forgotten.
