a legendary figure who helped seal the Ten-Tails, becoming the ancestor of the Hyūga clan and the Ōtsutsuki clan on the
Toneri was born into the Ōtsutsuki clan's Branch family, leading to his eyes being sealed within the Energy Vessel at birth; in place of vision, he learned to sense the world around him instead. Growing up with his father on the Moon, Toneri desired human friends, unlike the puppet servants that served his family. On multiple occasions, the two would take travel to Earth to secretly observe the Hyūga Clan in Konohagakure, whom descended from Hamura's direct bloodline.Personality
Toneri carries hatred towards mankind for weaponising chakra and once plotted to destroy humanity as punishment, a goal which he states that the branch family of his clan desired for a thousand years. He usually displays a calm and cool demeanour driven to completing the Thousand Year Plan to wipe out the shinobi world. Hamura was born as the younger of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's twin sons,[1] the first people to be born with chakra. When Kaguya realised both Hamura and Hagoromo also had the ability to wield chakra, Kaguya — as the Ten-Tails — tried to forcibly reclaim her chakra out of rage and jealousy. Eventually, Hagoromo and Hamura succeeded in defeating and sealing her within Hagoromo. Some time later, Hagoromo created the tailed beasts and extracted the Ten-Tails' husk from his body and sealed it into the Moon, resulting in his death. Sometime later, Hamura and the rest of the clan departed to the Moon, in order to guard his mother's sealed remains, though not before receiving instructions from his brother to wait for a full millennium and observe mankind.[3] There, he used the power of the Tenseigan to bring order and stability to the world of the Moon.[4] Decades later and having grown elderly, Hamura dies of old age while in bed surrounded by his clan members.While their homeland continued to prosper, people would periodically disappear for a sacred Ritual of the God Tree.
