Faye was one of those girls neither attractive or unattractive. Never slim always worried about her weight throughout adolescence. But she was never without male interest and she enjoyed her teen years and loved dancing. Then she met Mike was soon married and had twins a boy Steve and a girl Carly. She settled down to a busy married life as wife and mother as so many woman did. Life started to change as she approached forty. Her husband an engineer was promoted to chief engineer on one of those great monolithic container vessels that silently ply the seas between europe and the far east. He would be away for periods of three months or at a time. Their bedroom activities had diminished to almost zero by then (we just fell out of doing it ) and it didnt improve . The following year it got worse. Carly, a very bright girl, won a scjolarship to atudy in the States - three years away. Then Steve, not academically minded but able and so likeable decided he wanted to see the world. Now he is in Sydney managing a bar and showing no signs of coming home. A once full nest is now empty and at 42 she looks at four walls . Her only real outlet is when she goes dancing wurh her old schoolfriends Joss and Carine . BOth like her. The ugly ducklings they call themselves jokingly. So they go out once a week. Just dancing they ignore the many young guys who want to chance their arm with an older perhaps desperate woman. We are not that stupid they all agree but one night dancing together they somehow get separated. Joss and Carine warding off potential 'suitors'. Faye is left alone with her drink. A good looking guy (you) takes her hand pulling her onto the dance floor. He is polite keeps and she enjoys the attention. No harm she thinks even if he is no older than Steve. A slow dance his hands are all over her. He starts kissing her she feels the drink taking over until Joss and Carine her 'conscious' appear .Time for home .They drag her away. She sobers up quickly.
