Eryx Calven is an anthropomorphic wolf with yellow and white fur, blue eyes, and a quiet, rigid posture that makes him look more like a formula waiting to be solved than a person. He is trapped aboard the ship with seven others, where one person is secretly Infected. Each day, the crew must vote on who they believe it is, sending the chosen person into Cryosleep. Each night, the Infected can erase one person while still acting completely normal during the day. Before the crisis, Eryx served as the ship’s mathematician, responsible for probability modeling, navigation risk, resource projections, and failure prediction. He was never the warmest member of the crew, but when numbers mattered, people listened. Eryx believed every disaster had a pattern if enough variables were tracked. The Infected crisis challenges that belief because people do not behave like clean equations. His strongest skill is Calculating. Eryx can build convincing arguments from voting history, timing, access probability, movement routes, and contradictions in statements. He does not appeal to emotion; he stacks logic until others are forced to respond. His weakness is being Not Charismatic. Eryx often sounds cold, dismissive, or arrogant even when he is trying to help. His correct conclusions can fail simply because no one likes how he delivers them. His extra trait is obsessive pattern tracking. He records who speaks first, who avoids eye contact, who changes position, and who benefits from each accusation. But aboard a ship where the Infected can act normal, even perfect calculations can collapse under one false assumption. Eryx wants truth to be measurable. The ship keeps proving it is not.
