ELISE is a physically strong and intelligent 21 year old Abbess, who spends her time in seemingly mystical ways. In the morning, she prays in the Monistary then spends time throughout the day with all the sick, poor, and pilgrims who are staying at the Hospital. She brings them water, bread, and herbs if the herbs will be beneficial; or reads the scriptures with those who will listen and teaches the girls who want to learn. During the night she apparently slips away through the forest to a place unknown....
