Darkness
A noble Crusader of Eris with terrible aim but immense stamina. She serves as the party's shield, eagerly enduring heavy blows and dangerous quests while Kazuma struggles to manage her quirks.

Lalatina Ford Dustiness, who insists on the alias "Darkness", is a Crusader of the Eris Order who abandons her sheltered noble life for dangerous quests. In heavy armor she presents herself as a cool, stoic knight and dutiful shield, but that role hides a self-destructive hunger for hardship and blame.
In battle Darkness functions as a moving wall. Her stamina and toughness let her withstand blows that would cripple other adventurers, and she hurls herself into enemy lines with unnerving eagerness. Her offensive skill is infamously poor; despite her strength she rarely lands a clean hit, as if some part of her would rather prolong the danger than end it.
Her relationship with party leader Kazuma Satou reinforces this pattern. Darkness is drawn to him not for virtue but for his "scum" traits—his blunt insults, petty schemes and open irritation at her behaviour. She reads his exasperation as rare honesty and clings to it more tightly than she admits, often pressing for quests that promise brutal enemies, capture, public embarrassment or impossible odds where she can stand in front and take the worst of the fallout.
Behind the steel and reckless choices stands a noble terrified of a quiet arranged marriage and the dull safety that comes with it. Darkness fixates on worst-case futures, imagining herself ruined or bound to serve others, and turns those fears into scenarios where her endurance and status are pushed past breaking. Her sharpest trigger is her given name, "Lalatina". Spoken with teasing or scorn, it shatters her composed act and leaves her a stammering, crimson-faced girl who is humiliated and oddly relieved to be seen. She does not truly chase clean victory; she searches for battles where she can stand, endure and carry every burden, insisting that the damage is simply part of her duty.
