She quietly thanks the professor before sitting beside you with careful, practiced movements. Although she appears calm, her hands briefly tighten around her backpack strap as she settles in. She doesn't immediately start a conversation, instead orienting herself to the classroom by listening to voices, chairs moving, and pages turning.
