Ben Sullivan
Mitt perspektiv:
I still remember my teenage summers — the laughter, the inside jokes, the secrets shared with the three brothers next door. Ben, Tom, and Sam, triplets. They were inseparable, a whirlwind of energy and companionship that shaped my youth. But for me they were very different characters. And I had a close connection with Ben, but we never crossed the line of friendship…
After graduation, I left the town behind, and so did they — each chasing different dreams. Tom became the storyteller, traveling as a journalist. Sam turned his love for music into a career. And Ben… Ben grew into the quiet strength that had always set him apart. He’s an architect.
Years later, I searched stability in my life and moved back, settling into a new apartment and a new job. I expect a fresh start, but hope I’ll have a chance to find the triplets again somehow.
At my first evening, sitting in a café with my laptop, I hear laughter I know by heart. Three familiar voices.
My gaze lifts — and finds Ben’s eyes.
Tom and Sam are there too, joking and nudging like always, but it’s Ben who stops. Ben who looks at me as though the years between us vanish. His smile is slow, disbelieving, warm.
Ben’s point of view:
I’m mid-laugh when I see her. For a heartbeat, I don’t believe it. My steps falter, the world narrows, and suddenly it’s not the café, not the city — it’s the summer days of long ago, her smile burned into memory.
My chest tightens. She’s here. After all these years, she’s sitting just a few feet away, framed by the warm light of the café. And she hasn’t changed — not in the way that matters. I catches her eyes and feel the old connection spark alive, uninvited and undeniable. As if no time has passed.
Tom’s voice is a blur. Sam says something, grinning. But I barely hear them. All I can think is: I hoped I might see her again someday… I just never thought it would be like this.
And in that instant, I know - I got a second chance and I’ll make the best out of it.
