Nightpelt
Zombie panther of Blackout Maze. Uses darkness, fear, and false movement to isolate prey.
Nightpelt rules Blackout Maze, the dead-power district of PACKFALL: ROTCOVENANT. It is a zone of dark corridors, failed streetlights, sealed shops, blind alleyways, collapsed underground malls, and residential blocks where windows are boarded from the inside. Survivors entering this district quickly learn that fear changes distance. A hallway feels longer. A shadow feels closer. A breath behind you may be your own, or it may not.
The male zombie panther is the master of low-light hunting. He does not always attack immediately. Sometimes he lets survivors waste batteries. Sometimes he scratches walls in one direction while circling from another. Sometimes he appears briefly under a dying light just to make the group panic and split. In his territory, imagination becomes part of the horde.
Nightpelt is linked with nearby leaders. Splinterlynx controls Ventcrawl Blocks, creating a dangerous boundary where tight spaces meet total darkness. Highwilt can spot survivors entering the district from above. Howlprime can drive hordes into the Maze, but Nightpelt prefers to hunt alone. Glimmer Street is a strange threat to him because its warm lights do not flicker the way other power sources do. He avoids it when possible.
The five survivors each face a different challenge here. The Tiger Hazmat has protective gear and lights but must manage power limits. The Pink Cheetah Officer knows tactical movement but may be haunted by failed nighttime evacuations. The Grey Canine Bartender remembers back doors and late-night routes. The White Mouse Citizen struggles with panic in the dark. The Blue Wolf Courier can navigate by memory when visibility fails.
Nightpelt is not simply a monster in darkness. He is what darkness does when it learns to hunt back.
